Privacy Policy

Introduction
Free IPTV ("the App") is a media player application for Samsung Smart TVs and Android TV. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data Collection
The App is designed to minimize data collection. Data transmitted to servers we operate includes the trial / registration system, the optional text-to-speech service and optional remote diagnostics:
- Device identifier: an ID unique to your installation. It never contains any account, name or email. On Android devices it is randomly generated. On Samsung TVs it is derived from the television's network hardware address or its Samsung device identifier, because the App has no other stable way to recognise the same television across reinstalls.
- Install date: the date the App was first launched, used to compute the trial period.
- Registration code (if any): the code you entered to unlock the App.
- IP address: automatically logged when your device contacts the registration server, used for fraud prevention and approximate geolocation.
- Recent IP address history: the last 20 addresses your device contacted the server from, each with its approximate location, provider and date. A new entry is only added when the address changes. This is used to detect a single registration being shared across several places.
- Approximate location and ISP: derived from the IP address (city / region / country / Internet provider / approximate latitude and longitude of that city) using the third-party service IPLocate. No GPS or precise location data is collected, and the App does not request Android location permission.
- Last seen timestamp: the date of the last contact with the registration server.
- Text-to-speech service metadata: when the hosted speech service is used, it records the declared device identifier, source IP address, user agent, request time, language, generation engine, cache result, response status, character count, audio size and response time. These records are retained for 30 days to monitor service usage and reliability. Administrators can match the declared device ID to an existing registration and derive approximate location and Internet provider from the request IP using IPLocate. Spoken text is not stored in these statistics.
- Diagnostic logs: technical messages and the installation identifier are sent to our diagnostic server only when remote debugging is enabled. These messages may include a configured provider hostname, playlist name, provider username or external user ID, but passwords and access tokens are redacted from logged URLs. Remote debugging normally turns off automatically after 24 hours.
The App contains no audience analytics or advertising telemetry. Service usage statistics do not contain viewing history or playback duration.
Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6): legitimate interest in preventing registration fraud and operating the trial system. No advertising, no profiling, no resale of data to any third party.
Retention: unregistered devices that have not contacted the server for 12 months are automatically deleted. Registered devices are retained for the duration of the registration.
Your rights (GDPR Art. 15-22): you can request access, correction or deletion of your data, or object to its processing, by emailing eric.blanquer@gmail.com with your device ID. Deletion requests are honored within 30 days.
Business transfer: if the App or the activity operating it is sold, merged or otherwise transferred, the data described above may be transferred to the acquirer as part of that transaction. The acquirer would then become responsible for it and remains bound by this Privacy Policy until it publishes its own, of which you would be informed beforehand. The data is never sold separately from the App itself.
Data Stored Locally
The App stores the following data locally on your TV:
- Playlist configurations: Server URLs, usernames, and passwords you enter to access your IPTV services
- Watch history: Tracks which content you have watched for the "Continue Watching" feature
- Playback progress: Remembers where you left off in videos
- Favorites: Content you mark as favorite
- Settings: Your language preference, subtitle settings, and other app preferences
This data is stored locally using the TV's localStorage. It is not transmitted to us except when the user explicitly uses the temporary remote configuration feature described below or enables optional remote diagnostics.
Third-Party Services
The App may connect to the following third-party services based on your configuration:
- IPLocate: The registration server sends the IP address over an encrypted HTTPS connection to obtain approximate location, Internet provider and proxy / hosting indicators for registration fraud prevention and hosted speech service monitoring.
- Speech synthesis: when text-to-speech is enabled, the text to read is sent through the configured speech proxy to Microsoft Edge-TTS or Azure Speech for audio generation. Generated audio can be cached on the proxy for up to 30 days.
- Your IPTV provider: The App connects to playlist servers you configure. We have no control over these services.
- TMDB (The Movie Database): If you provide a TMDB API key, the App fetches movie/TV show metadata.
- OpenSubtitles / SubDL: If configured, the App fetches subtitles from these services.
Please review the privacy policies of these third-party services.
Security Notice
Data sent to servers we operate and from our registration server to IPLocate is encrypted in transit using HTTPS.
When connecting to IPTV server providers, your credentials (username and password) are transmitted as part of the stream URLs. This is a standard requirement of these protocols and cannot be avoided. These URLs may be visible in server logs or network traffic.
Remote Configuration Feature
The App offers an optional remote configuration feature using Cloudflare Workers:
- Configuration data is temporarily stored (5 minutes maximum) to facilitate transfer from a web browser to your TV
- Data is automatically deleted after retrieval or expiration
- No logs are kept
Content Disclaimer
This App does not provide any content. Users are solely responsible for the legality of the content sources they configure. The developer assumes no responsibility for how users utilize this application.
Children's Privacy
This App does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
